"Tired of working for years, mostly for multinational companies and in huge corporate settings, I thought of venturing into a business of my own. With very little, hard earned money on hand, critical evaluation of all the pros and cons of starting up a business was paramount. I thought that owning a franchise would be best since a franchise would already have a name established. The risk of losing capital money from start up to a certain point when the business would at least break-even is much less. But a big question lingered for some time. Which franchise?

Like most first visits to Jugo Juice, mine began with Jugo’s most popular protein shake ‘Big Blue.’  I was so impressed by the superior flavor and freshness of the product, that I couldn’t wait to finish the smoothie before going back to Jugo Juice and getting the franchise information that I saw on their counter.  I called my husband while finishing the smoothie and said this is the one, the perfect franchise that is recognized for unprocessed healthy products!  The Jugo Juice franchise is not only a company with tremendous vision and innovative products.  It has become a lifestyle for my family and my customers who are incredibly loyal to the brand, as they make Jugo Juice a regular part of their work-week schedule.  Owning a Jugo Juice franchise is better than being independent.  I was introduced to a very enthusiastic trainer in Calgary, and this is where I was first set up for success, as their trainer provided a very in-depth and hands on training.  This gave me the solid confidence to run a very successful franchise, which I was then able to pass onto my staff.  I knew this company was picking up very strong momentum and immediately purchased my first location at the new Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre in Barrie Ontario.  Everything has been going so well, that I’m eagerly anticipating a second location!

Amarjit & Jag – Calgary International Airport

It’s been a fabulous six years since me and Jag had our first Jugo Juice at Gate B at Calgary International Airport. In 2009 July, we opened our second Jugo juice at Gate A. In May 2010, we took over Jugo Juice at Arrivals level of Airport. Finally in November of 2011, we opened our fourth Jugo Juice at Westjet Terminal. It was like our dream coming true.

There had been ups and downs in the past years. I was always being heard by the support team for my concerns. Operations at the airport were really challenging some times, but I always got the required support. I also received encouragement and motivation from my DM”s and the cofounders. In 2009 Jag and I were awarded the Franchise Partner of the Year Award. This award reminds us all the time to do even better to keep up with Jugo Juice standards. It was such a motivational boost to me and my entire team at the airport.
